On December 23, JingTsing successfully held the delivery ceremony for the PCS & Step-Up Integrated Units of the 50 MW Flywheel Energy Storage Project in Qinyuan, Shanxi, marking another important milestone in the project's development.

As one of the core components of the flywheel energy storage system, the integrated PCS & Step-Up Unit combines power conversion, voltage transformation, and grid connection into a single solution. Its successful delivery reflects the efficient collaboration across engineering design, manufacturing, testing, and factory acceptance, while laying a solid foundation for the project's subsequent installation, commissioning, and grid connection.

Supporting the Development of Next-Generation Power Systems

The Qinyuan project will deploy a 50 MW flywheel energy storage system within a frequency regulation power station. Working together with a battery energy storage system (BESS), the project will provide primary and secondary frequency regulation services, supporting grid stability and contributing to the development of a more flexible and resilient power system.

For this project, JingTsing supplied the complete set of PCS & Step-Up Integrated Units required for all 10 system blocks. Each unit underwent rigorous design verification, manufacturing, testing, and factory acceptance procedures, demonstrating JingTsing's strong engineering capabilities and technological expertise in advanced energy storage equipment.


A Key Milestone Toward Project Completion

The successful delivery of these critical systems represents an important milestone in the project's execution.

The project will now enter the installation and commissioning phase, with all project partners continuing to work closely to ensure high-quality construction and on-schedule commissioning.

Upon completion, the project is expected to enhance grid frequency regulation capability, support Shanxi Province's energy transition, and contribute to the high-quality development of China's energy storage industry.
